I am seeking information
about the origins and customs of having bridal showers.

Does anyone know:

When the tradition began in Canada and/or the USA?
Why and how did bridal showers come about?
What were early rules of etiquette?
What activities were involved?

If anyone has references, I would be happy to hear from you.

Thank you.
