At our museum the Educator and Curator are on the same
level, and both of us answer to the Executive
Director. I would imagine in most institutions
eduction is its own department, since the field in
general has recognized the importance of that part of
our mission.

FYI: there was a really interesting article in Museum
News (I think that's where I read it) last month about
how curators' and educators' positions have evolved
(with some growing pains!) at the Henry Ford Museum --
definitely worth checking out!

Kim Kenney, Curator
Historical Society of Rockland County
New City, NY
