Thanks for the tip Meg!! As part of the setting process, the finished
yarn will be soaked in hot water with some Dawn detergent, thoroughly
rinsed and hung dry. This might be done a couple of times if it is
hand-dyed until the rinse water is clear. Then it will be washed again
with the same process after it is knitted up. I'll probably give
everything a good soak once I fumigate it enough so I can just handle
it.

Mothballs, a little goes a REALLY long way.
