CAPITAL CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

Science Program Manager
Capital Children's Museum, one of the nation's pre-eminent children's
museums, is looking for an energetic science (museum) educator with strong
management and program development skills to manage and expand the guest
experience within the Science Zone at CCM, including the American Chemistry
Council's Chemical Science Center, an interactive chemistry lab and
demonstration area for young children.  Responsibilities: recruitment and
mentoring of staff and interns; development and presentation of activities,
demonstrations and workshops for children, educators and families related to
both chemistry and physical science; budget management; strategic planning;
donor relations.  Serve on exhibit planning teams.  Work collaboratively
with other staff on museum-wide program strategies.  Ensure the integrity of
the guest experience through appropriate staff development and training.

Qualifications: 3+  years experiential science program development for
children, strong knowledge of chemistry preferred. Dynamic presentation
skills; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Must be a good multi-tasker and be able to foster positive behaviors through
example and action.  A team-oriented spirit and a ready sense of humor are
musts!
