I've been an English teacher and an editor, but what I'm telling you is 
my "gut"...I can't quote the rule.

If you've introduced your museum and capitalized it there as a proper name, I 
would continue to capitalize subsequent references to "the Museum" because you 
are still referring to that proper name.
