The deadline for entries in the 1999 Muse Awards Competition, which covers
video programs and PSAs, films, multimedia programs and web sites produced
by and/or for museums in the year 1998, has been extended to January 30,
1999.

The Muse Awards are the American Association of Museum's way of recognizing
excellence in media design and production in the museum community. The
competition encompasses media produced by and for science centers, zoos,
art, natural history and history museums, as well as historic sites and
specialized collections of all kinds. Winners receive Gold, Silver, and
Bronze Muse Awards. All awards will be presented at a special ceremony held
to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Muse Awards during the AAM Annual
Meetings in Cleveland, Ohio, April 25-29. 1999. Winning entries will be
publicized in the November-December issue of Museum News, and will also be
highlighted in next year's Marketplace of Ideas at the AAM Annual Meetings.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ENTRY

AAM professional and institutional members are eligible. All entries must
have been produced and/or released between January 1, 1998 and December 31,
1998.

Productions made by independent or commercial producers may be submitted
only with concurrence of sponsoring museum and if museum staff controlled
