TITLE:                  Exhibition Program Manager

DEPARTMENT:             Exhibition & Collection Management and Design

REPORTS TO:             Director of E & C Management and Design


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop exhibition tours with the Deputy Director and Chief Curator, and
with other curatorial staff.  Facilitate determination of exhibition
tour schedule, update and maintain schedule.

Identify and develop new venues in cooperation with senior staff.

Draft contracts with support from legal department.  Negotiate and
finalize exhibition contracts with support from Project Director for
Planning and Operations.

Formulate exhibition budgets in cooperation with Director of Budgeting
and Planning and Senior Financial Analyst.  Evaluate and forecast
budgets as exhibition develops and track costs to ensure that exhibition
is developing within budget parameters.
Review/approve invoices related to exhibition tour.

Act as Museum point person on all administrative matters regarding
shared costs.  Manage billing of venues and review payments. Liaison
with conservation, registrar, and curatorial staff on issues regarding
security and facilities for tour venues.  Incorporate these
recommendations into exhibition contracts.

Resolve outstanding budget issues related to tour.

Supervise preparation of installation/special instructions and
procedures to venues with input from curator, conservation, registrar,
exhibition designer and others.

Assist in formulation of Museum's touring exhibition policies and
procedures and respond to other entities' requests for same.

Organize and attend all Exhibition Management meetings.  Prepare and
distribute minutes.

Produce and distribute the exhibition calendar for New York sites and
international venues as directed.

Modify Museum standard Exhibition Agreement and standard form Agreement
for Fabricated Artworks.

REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate to substantial experience in Exhibition Management required.
Working knowledge of art installation.

Experience with budgets, contracts and negotiations required.

Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills required.
