Deb,

There are many ways we can configure Museum-L for custom messages.
Unfortunately, the message for confirming posts does not appear to be one.

John

Steve, I know you moderators work hard as this is a high traffic list. But I
humbly suggest that the wording on the confirmation message be changed. I
thought that when the list went to moderated status, the confirmation
message
HAD to be replied to else the original message would not be sent. If you
read
the above message, it certainly sounds that way. There is no mention of the
message going through if the confirmation message is not replied to. From
the
recent discussion, it seems like a lot of other people have misunderstood as
well.

I suggest a wording like:

"The MUSEUM-L list has been configured to request explicit confirmation of
> all messages posted to the list, for security reasons. You must now
> confirm that the enclosed message did originate from you. To do so,
simply reply to the present message and type "OK" (without the quotes) in
the
text of your message, or click on the link below. If you do not reply, this
message will be sent to the moderators for review and then posted on the
list.
If this message did not originate from you or you do not want it to go to
the
list, please contact the moderators immediately for assistance."

Deb
