Isn't the point of digitizing collections meant to ne about access?
Unless you all have digital cameras, I assume that your collection has
been photographed in the conventional manner and those
photos/negatives are stored appropriately. If you have a large
collection with hundreds of thousands of individual objects isn't it
quicker, easier and more logical to search for images and information
on those objects through a computerised database? How can you make
your collections more accessible to the public if your only visual
source is a 35mm slide tucked neatly away in storage?
