MANAGER OF INDIVIDUAL GIVING:  LIBRARY
Large urban public library seeks Manager of Individual Giving to oversee a
comprehensive individual giving program from entry-level memberships to
elite annual support groups, including planned giving and major gifts.
Responsibilities include designing and introducing a membership program to
replace the current direct mail solicitation program, marketing the
membership program on local, regional and national levels, cultivating an
elite level of annual individual supporters, identifying major gifts
prospects, developing promotional materials, and participating in planning
member events.  This senior management position will supervise the donor
database using Raiser’s Edge, as well as oversee conversion to Windows-based
software.  The fundraising goal is to increase $1.5 million raised per year
to $5 million per year in 8 years.

The Manager of Individual Giving is a new position reporting to the Deputy
Director for External Affairs, is responsible for managing one staff person,
and is part of a growing 4-person Development Office.  The library has a
long-established direct mail giving program with 10,000 donors, 3,000
current.  Resources include closely-allied Special Events and Community
Relations offices, a new Foundation Board of Trustees focused on
fundraising, an in-house Art Department, and the library’s research resources. 

Qualifications for this position include strong writing and organizational
skills, B.A. plus minimum of 5+ years experience in development, experience
with direct mail, ability to work with membership committees, and capability
of cultivating diverse, generous communities.

Salary:  $60,000, and excellent benefits.


Professionals for NonProfits (PNP) is a personnel agency founded in 1996
that specializes in providing skilled professional and support staff for
museums, arts organizations, libraries, universities and other cultural,
government and charitable organizations.  PNP handles placements from senior
and middle management to administrative and technical personnel.  They also
assemble project teams in areas such as special events, national and

years of experience in the nonprofit field.
