Right. Tell your husband to get over it. I got failed the
first time in my MA (English) defense because one of the
committee, whose specialty was Browning, didn't like my
response that I never read Browning unless assigned. Afterward,
my advisor, a sage and gentle person, chided me that I really
ought to learn "browning" of a different sort.
