Merri,

Based on my experience, seeing the inner workings at Joslyn, the most in
demand jobs are in protection, maintenance, food service, and front-line
(admission/information) staff. They are, typically, the worst paid.
For this reason, there is high turnover. As this list is focused on the
professional activities of curators and collections, educations and
fundraisers, etc. the reality often goes unspoken.

Sincerely,

Jay Heuman

Hi. I am very grateful for all of the great advice about graduate
school. Listening to everyone's thoughts and experiences has raised
another question. Which museum careers/jobs are in more demand?
  Sincerely,
  Merri
