Left Coast’s Ides of March sale and contest drew the wit and wisdom of many of our readers, over 80 entries in all. They ranged from puns on Caesar salad, to riffs on Shakespeare, to a recitation of a Mel Brooks scene. Judging was difficult and votes were traded for future considerations, like a better window view in the office or a month’s supply of Reese’s Pieces. The winning entries, listed below, drew the best response and included a gloss on Facebook, The Office, and a pun by one of our physical anthropology authors (we learned that the left costal was a rib). Winners of free books were:

"Your blade strikes hard against the rib next my heart. I can feel the left costal press." - Robert Eckhardt
"Thy wicked pricks are hard to bear (that's what she said)..." - Jennifer Huang
"You know this means I'm unfriending you, Brutus!" - Susan C. Ruderman

Congratulations! The full list of entries is on our Facebook site at http://www.facebook.com/#!/LeftCoastPress. Hit the LIKE button while you’re there. Hope you enjoy reading them. We’ll have another sale, and another contest, in the fall.
