Hello all on the list! The museum where I work is building
a database for collections use. I have been asked to provide information
regarding the ethnographic collections. This information includes
determining culture areas/regions and would be used in standardized form
when cataloging. Herein lies the problem. North American cultures have
been adequately documented and as a result, we own a good reference book
for this purpose. However, we are without references for the rest of the
world. Ages ago, a book was used to make these determinations titled
"Atlas for Anthropology"by Spencer and Johnson (1972). Now, it is
horribly out of date and out of print. Is there anyone out there who can
suggest reference(s)? Please respond on or off list.

Thanks in advance,
