Dear Sir/Madam

I am looking for information on the use of replicas in museums for my
dissertation. For the purpose of my resaerch the term replica is a broad
category which encompasses direct copies of originals, reconstructions,
where only part of the original remains and computer simulations/websites.

I am interested in how replicas are used by museums, e.g. in displays,
as handling material, for education, for sale in the shop. The dissertation
will include a discussion on the value of the object, changing perceptions
of objects and ethical considerations. As part of this I will be contacting
museum organisations for their codes of ehtics/professional guidelines.

I would be very grateful if you could be of any assistance with my
search as I would like to include some international case studies in my
final report.
Yours Sincerely
