I thought so, hence the quotes. I agree it needs debate but very little
appeared - on museum-l, musweb-l, icom-l, icann etc.. I hope my message will
stimulate more. Do you think ICOM will publish publically (on its website or
global museum or icann) any comment it has received.

Exactly my point - those who feel strongly one way or the other are the ones
who speak out and get heard - those who just like the idea and want to get
on with their lives don't get heard and the statistics appear skewed.

Indeed - but they are already. Why can't our Military Historu Museum, for
example, get a .mil domain name. This at least gives a chance to get more
relevant domain name. As I said - who gets to use it depends on how the
memebers feel and perhaps if more of us expressed ourselves we'd get a
better idea how our colleagues feel about this. Rather than the 999 - 1
principle perhaps the other 2290 persons on museum-l can be assumed to be
positive about this proposal!
