      PRESIDENT CLINTON APPOINTS TWO MEMBERS TO THE ADVISORY
           BOARD FOR THE NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM
 
 
     The President today announced the appointment of Thomas W.
Hoog and Y.C.L. Susan Woo to the Advisory Board for the National
Air and Space Museum.
 
     The Air and Space Museum is part of the Smithsonian
Institution system.  The advisory board provides advice to the
Institution and the director and reports back to Congress when
necessary.  The purpose of the museum is to memorialize the
national development of aviation and space flight; as well as
collect, preserve, and display aeronautical and space flight
equipment of historical interest and significance.  The museum
also serves as a repository for scientific equipment and data
pertaining to the development of aviation and space flight; and
provides educational material for the historical study of
aviation and space flight.
 
     THOMAS HOOG is Chairman of Hill & Knowlton Public Affairs
Worldwide and a former naval aviator.
 
     SUSAN WOO, Ph.D. of Tennessee is President and CEO of ERC,
Inc., a company specializing in high-tech services.  Prior to
establishing her own company, Dr.  Woo was Professor of Aerospace
Engineering at The University of Tennessee Space Institute.  She
is also a world renowned expert in magnetohydrodynamics (MHD)
power generation.
