After running on for two weeks I feel compelled to respond to this
thread and perhaps bring a different perspective.

This is a Discussion-list (emphasis on discussion).  We should welcome
discussions even if they are on the appropriateness of certain requests.
That is what keeps this list interesting.

I have a very simple idea for reducing the number of messages on the
list (today I came in to find 125 messages waiting for me).
PLEASE RESPOND TO THE ENTIRE LIST ONLY WHEN IT IS OF INTEREST TO THE
ENTIRE LIST.

Too many of you are simply hitting the "reply" button without realizing
your message is being sent to the entire list. In 95% of the cases, most
of us have no interest in what your reply is to a specific question.  If
we are, we know to ask the orignial poster for the replies recieved.
Pleare reply to the individual who posted the request unless you feel
that we should all get in on the discussion.
