The Mountain-Plains Museum Association has an ongoing mentoring program,
which welcomes new members by pairing them up with those of us on the MPMA
Council, who then make a personal contact, either by phone or by mail,
preferably both.  This is especially helpful prior to and during national
and regional conferences.  The Texas Association of Museums also practices
mentoring of new members as well as those new to the museum profession.
