I vote for NO attachments. These are the main way in which undetected
viruses are spread, and in any case the security firewalls on many systems
either block or scramble binary attachments trying to check them out
for viruses, while some of the largest free e-mail services won't accept
attachments at all.

Surely it's no real hardship to simply use the "save as" facility on the
word-processor to convert to text (.txt, .asc etc.) and then insert the
document in the body of the e-mail itself. Then everyone should be able to
read it directly, without going through all the effort of down-loading the
attachment, checking it for viruses and then opening it in a
word-processing package (if - of course - they have a compatible word
processor: not everyone uses Microsoft Word just because that's what comes
free with the PC)
