JOB TITLE:  Educational Technology Coordinator
DIVISION:  Education	
REPORTS TO: Director of Education	

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oversee all use of educational technology in The Cleveland Museum of Natural
History's Education Division.  Design, develop, and implement a
comprehensive natural history and health distance learning program for K-12
students.  Position The Cleveland Museum of Natural History at the forefront
of interactive distance education programs.  Increase appropriate use of
educational technology for education programs within the Museum - both
school and public. Serve as a resource for Museum Science Instructors
through training and technical support. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Work with Education Staff to develop interactive, proficiency-based
distance learning curriculum
. Plan and conduct staff training and development on appropriate/effective
use of educational technology for in-house Museum programs
. Provide staff training on equipment use as well as technical support
. Serve as advisor to Exhibits Division regarding educational technology use
in galleries
. Serve as advisor to Marketing & Communications Division regarding
interactive educational components for the Museum's website
. Instruct Museum programs via distance learning occasionally
. Support, facilitate, and coordinate all distance learning activities on
and off museum campus
. Research/track distance learning trends (teaching methods, equipment,
etc.)
. Manage educational technology budget 
. Research/obtain external funding in conjunction with Development Division

MINIMUM  QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology or related field.  Experience in
using videoconferencing technologies such as ATM, IP and ISDN. Polycom codec
experience preferred. Experienced in interactive web application programming
to supplement the current DL program with a strong web component. Computer
literate (PC and Mac). Strong organizational, interpersonal, and
communication skills essential. Technical support for grant writing or
curriculum development experience a plus.
