*****************DEVELOPING A DISASTER PLAN******************

To prevent unnecessary loss of materials, institutions need
knowledgeable staff and written plans for dealing with emergency
situations so that fewer disasters occur and damage is minimized.  This
web-based class is designed to support the work of an institution's
disaster planning committee.  Homework assignments will require input
and support from a variety of staff members.  

The modules cover:
*Establishment of a planning structure
*Risk Assessment
*Resource list development
*Setting recovery priorities
*Recovery procedures
*Plan development
*Working with disaster recovery vendors

Intended Audience:
This class is designed for staff responsible for organizing, writing,
and implementing an institution-wide disaster preparedness plan in
academic, public, and special libraries as well as archives and
historical societies.

When:  April 28, 2005 with mandatory follow-up sessions on May 12 & May
26, 2005.
All sessions are from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Cost:  $155 for SOLINET members, $225 for non-members.  
Early-bird discounts and late fees may apply.
