Good evening, Tracy and Museum'lers - I have had excellent results using
MicroChamber interleaving papers for smoke odor removal in textiles and
costumes made of natural fibres that couldn't be cleaned/washed because of
condition and/or failing wash fastness testing.

>>Second, does anyone have experience using zeolite MicroChamber
Interleaving paper for smoke odor removal? It is listed in the
Conservation Resources International catalog as a product that works for
such things, but would like to know if anyone has experience with it.>>

Unless the tobacco smoke was part of ethnographic use, it should be removed
(if condition allows and wash fastness testing is passed) as it's
contamination is accelerating the deterioration of the fibres and dyes of
the wool textiles.
