This year, SEMC's Diversity Commity and Students, Scholarship & Mentors
Committee will award up to fifteen scholarships to the Annual Meeting,
October 16-19, Jeckyll Island, GA.  Each scholarship will consist of full
Annual Meeting registration (includes program sessions, Annual Awards
Luncheon and three evening events) plus a $375 cash stipend to defray travel
and lodging costs.  Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Annual
Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 17.

Scholarship catagories are: 1. Students (senior-level undergraduate or
graduate students preparing for a museum career), 2. Minority Students
(senior-level undergraduate or graduate students preparing for a museum
career), 3. Entering Museum Professionals (employed in the museum field for
24 months or less), 4. Minority Museum Professionals, 5. Museum
Professionals Working in a Small Museum (museums with annual operating
budget of $250,000 or less).

Applicants in Category 1. are not required to reside in the southeast, but
all other applicants must study or work in an institution in the SEMC
