We too use the Nikon Coolpix 885 and have been really pleased with it.
And it has just been discontinued by Nikon, so you can find some really good
deals out there on the internet. Many companies are selling them as "used"
or reworked but in many cases they are really new, just have been removed
from original packaging by Nikon.
We have lots of volunteers (seniors and students) and everyone who has used
it has been able to take really good quality images successfully.

Subject: Re: Digital camera recommendations

We are about to digitally document our collection of 3,000+ objects.
Can anyone recommend a digital camera, priced under $300, that would be
up to the task? We don't necessarily require something will all the
bells and whistles, just a good-quality, relatively inexpensive camera
that will be used, primarily, for shooting full shots and details of all
the objects in our collection, and then downloading these images into
our database.

I'm looking at either the Sony DSC-P52 or Canon PowerShot A-60.

Many thanks,

Kaytie Johnson

We are using a Nikon Coolpix885, the zoom is ideal for
shooting cracks and other damages.

Mr. Schulte,

I agree with the other posters that Dover is a good source for generic
coloring books on the topic you seek. However, if you are looking for a
site specific coloring book, you could either have someone in your area
design and publish the book, or use one of the companies that specialize in
that area. One such company is The Creative Company in Lawrenceburg,
Indiana. Their telephone number is (812) 537-5731. Dick Ruehrwein is the
company's main sales person (and company owner). He has a booth at most of
the regional museum conferences, and at the AAM and AASLH conferences.
