I believe the the firm of Architects Four in Ann Arbor did the restoration
work on the Michigan State Capitol building some years ago in Lansing. As
I recall, the steps out front were caving in from lack of support
underneath, and represented quite a problem.  I don't know if they were
granite.

Architects Four Historic Preservation has since merged with the larger
firm, SmithGroup.  I think at least one of the former A4 partners, Lorri
Sipes, is still with them.  She would be familiar with the Capitol
building project. And so probably would someone at the State Capitol.
