Thanks for your post!  While many see corporate museums as having "the good
life", in reality they struggle as much as any not-for-profit museum and
often the bureaucracy is worse.  While advertising is strictly regulated
(thus limiting visitation), they are not able to apply for federal grants
or access the MAP, CAP, and other federally sponsored professional
assistance.  So, your friend is the same boat as other corporate museums,
though I don't know how much this sentiment would help.  The American
Association for State and Local History has a corporate history initiative
designed to provide services and information to corporate owned museums and
history centers.  Their e-mail address is [log in to unmask] and the phone
number is 615/255-2971.  Also, the Society of American Archivists have a
corporate archives section (don't have their number handy). I hope this
