Ishi was the last surviving member of his American Indian tribe, the
Yahi.  Theodora Kroeber wrote a book about hime "Ishi, the Last of his
tribe" and an educational movie was made based on the book.  It's pretty
good.  I would suggest reading it.  It's very interesting.
