Regarding the long range/strategic plans for small history museums:
Historical collections here at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
comprises a rare medical book library (with some modest endowments),
the university archives and the "Alabama Museum of the Health Sciences."
The museum until recently has been an afterthought--in our new facility,
however, the museum, now adjacent to the rare medical book library, has
a great deal of room to grow and do some exciting activities. As the
Executive Director of all of this...I need some help also with long range/
strategic plans for the health history museum. The budget will be small,
indeed, one of my tasks is to work with
the university administration to develop a realistic budget. However,
because we are a large medical center, at least the admin looks favorably
on things medical. If someone has these documents, could they please
either email me or send them "snail mail".
