Institute for Learning Innovation
Professional Development Seminar

"Technology Use and Visitors"
Presenters: Dr. Lynn Dierking and Neal Johnson

The Institute for Learning Innovation opens this season's professional
development seminar with "Technology Use and Visitors," an interactive
seminar with two components.

First, Dr. Lynn Dierking, Associate Director, Institute for Learning
Innovation, will present research results exploring how visitors
interact with computer interactives, film and other media and the Web,
both in the museum and outside. The research, some conducted by the
Institute and some by others, will be examined from a visitor-centered
perspective, discussing the implications of the research for practice.

In the second half of the seminar, a research case study will be
presented and discussed by Neal Johnson, who works on large scale
digital imaging and web content development projects at the National
Gallery of Art. He is initiating a web site analysis study at the
Gallery and is interested in getting feedback and input about his study
from participants attending the seminar.
