Celebrate the Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase with “State Flowers of
the Louisiana Purchase”

The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens, Monroe, Louisiana announces the
availability of a traveling exhibit “State Flowers of the Louisiana
Purchase,” featuring reproductions of 15 watercolors of the state flowers of
the 15 states, or portions of states, that were eventually carved from the
Louisiana Purchase, with introductory and descriptive labels. A number of
sets of the reproductions are available for short-term loans or purchase by
museums and gardens. The original watercolors, painted by botanical artist,
Virginia A. Tuttle, will be exhibited at the Biedenharn Museum beginning
July 2003. The originals will be available for temporary exhibit after
