Hello,
Please, don't despair of looking for postgraduate
education in the UK. True, if you find yourself
without a bursary of any sort then it's more or less
impossible, but there are bursaries out there both at
masters and PhD level. I would encourage you to find
out who administers any course you're interested in
and contact them. You won't be the first overseas
student that they've ever had and will know of any way
you can get round the system.
In terms of looking for these things I'd recommend the
JANET homepage which links to all UK institutions
(www.ja.net) and also links from the NISS Bulletin
Board (www.niss.ac.uk). On a quick scout around I also
found that Prospects Web
(http://www.prospects.csu.man.ac.uk/student/pgdir/)
looks useful too - under Archaeology there are links
to some Museum Studies courses. Good luck anyway!
Steve Davis
