The Orange County Historical Museum had a similar situation
with a photo album that had removeable photos.  They chose
to give the enitre album an object number and then each
photo received the same number plus a letter, just like you
suggested.  It was a clear way to list each image, but also
reference it back to the album in which it was found.

I am surprised that PastPerfect doesn't include
"Sketchbook" in its nomenclature.  In that particular case,
I don't see a problem adding that to their list.
