Systems Engineer

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Systems Engineer for the Information Systems & Technology Department.  The Systems Engineer will be responsible for all information systems, and implementation of organizational and security policies.  This position has frequent contact with help-desk peers, vendors, remote IT staff and managers.  Other duties include: account administration, server installation and maintenance, server support, application installation and maintenance, LAN/WAN infrastructure maintenance, overall network troubleshooting, and participation in special projects and other related duties as required.  Qualification requirements are 3+ years of systems and networking experience.  Must have experience with Windows NT/2000 Server administration, with MS Exchange Server/Outlook 2000 administration, and network planning.  Must be comfortable working in a team environment and have the ability to work independently.  Must have strong troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN topologies, and software and hardware configuration required.  Bachelor degree is required and an MCSE certification is a plus.
