Art21, the nonprofit contemporary art organization, seeks pilot partners for
its two new outreach initiatives: Youth Engagement and Museum + Library
Partnerships.

PROJECT TOOLKIT**

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT introduces teens, educators, and their communities to
contemporary art. Pilot partners are welcome to submit creative ideas for
peer-led activities using the Art:21 series to provoke thought and
discussion. A wide range of after-school programs and other youth-focused
organizations will plan screening events, discussion forums, and hands-on
activities for student, parent, and teacher audiences.

MUSEUM + LIBRARY PARTNERSHIPS encourages collaboration between local
cultural institutions. Exploring contemporary art from visual and literary
perspectives, the initiative focuses on specific thematic episodes from the
Art:21 series. Local museums and libraries will partner to host a series of
public programs, workshops, and other activities. Events are tailored for
adult, family, and youth audiences, and encourage an interdisciplinary
approach to navigating the art of today.

Participating individuals and organizations will receive a free Art:21
Season 3 DVD, a project toolkit, postcards, posters, and Art21 staff
support. Events should be completed by early December, unless arranged with
prior approval from Art21. The ideas and feedback generated by all who
participate help inform the effectiveness of the materials, as well as
Art21's overall goals for these focused outreach opportunities.

Both pilot programs will continue through 2006. Their national launch -
open to all but without the aid of complimentary materials - will take place
in January 2007.

Please feel free to contact me for consultation, advice, or other inquiries.
All of us at Art21 are excited about the opportunities and new relationships
these initiatives will foster!
