We use Now Up-to-Date for tour and room scheduling for the entire Ohio
Statehouse, and it works fairly well. Soon, though, we'll switch to
Outlook because all the offices are going to be networked with PCs (we're
Mac devotees right now). Outlook seems kind of complex but flexible, and I
think (as someone else said) that setting up the right folders is the key
to success.

One crucial factor in all these software packages is the human factor.
What I mean is that the people keying in information have to be complete
in what they do, and clear too, to avoid confusion and miscommunication.
We'll have multiple schedulers (events, tours, House, Senate, TV studio,
etc.) so everyone will have to be conscientious about giving full info in
schedules available to the whole network--otherwise the niftiest software
will be for naught.

Purely my two cents,
Doug
