In a nutshell: clear or tan packing tape 2"x55yds is $1.00 a roll.
2"x110yds is $1.69 a roll. Other sizes at similar costs.
And you get a free tape gun.
Not shilling for u-line, but we we use them at my work all the time.(Not
in a museum setting. I'm just a trustee these days.)
