Hello,

I am doing a little informal (which may lead to more formal) research
about how different museums, especially those with hands-on exhibits,
inform their visitors about the layout of their facilities and I have a
couple of questions.

1. Does your facility use a map? If so, how is that map formatted: by
levels, exhibit halls, rough three dimensions on a flat plane, etc.
Also: What size paper is used: letter, legal, special.

2. Does your facility use a map board; a sign of the level, floor, etc
posted on that particular floor?

3. If you have a map, is it is a brochure format (tri-fold, quad-fold,
etc) or single sided?

We are in the process of growth and diversification (as most of us in
the business are) and there is the possibility that we may need to
change our current map format. I'd like to see what is generally used
in the community and what observations people have about their visitors
interacting with the maps.

Thanks in advance,

Ruth Terry
