project officer (2 year Fixed Term) operations manager (2 year Fixed Term)

The Science Centre Ref No: 21989

The Science Centre is operated by the University of Wollongong and is

an innovative, exciting, hands-on science centre. Technology based

exhibitions are created in-house and visitation comes from both the

public and schools. The Science Centre is seeking an experienced

science communicator to become part of the science centre team.

The Project Officer will create and design science content for

exhibitions, fact sheets, brochures and press releases. The Project

Officer will also play a key role in marketing the science centre and

communicating with sponsors. Excellent interpersonal skills and an

ability to work in a small team are required. Previous experience in a

science centre or museum will be an advantage.

The Science Centre is operated by the University of Wollongong and is

visitation from the public and schools from across NSW. Facilities

include exhibition spaces, a planetarium, science theatre, retail facilities

and workshops. Technology based exhibitions are created in-house and

in local industries. The Science Centre is seeking an Operations Manager

to take responsibility for the day to day operational aspects of the Centre.

This is a hands-on position and the successful candidate will be a highly

organised person with experience in facilities management.

The Operations Manager will be a team worker with excellent interpersonal

skills and an ability to encourage and inspire staff and volunteers.

Experience in a similar facility will be an advantage.
