Opportunity for funded Post-graduate Research
Museum Studies – Doctoral Award

The Department of Museum Studies invites applications from prospective PhD students to be considered for a Studentship funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), for entry in October 2009.

The studentships are open to applicants with a Masters degree in a relevant subject. The full value of the award includes a stipend, a fee waiver and a small research training grant.

Deadline: 31 March 2009


Applicants should contact Dr Viv Golding as all candidates will be assessed on the development of a full and relevant research proposal.

Professional Preparation Masters Studentship

The Department of Museum Studies invites applications from prospective Masters students to be considered for one of three Professional Preparation Masters Studentships funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), for entry in October 2009.

The studentships are open to applicants studying any Masters degree in the Department either full-time on campus, or part-time by distance learning. The full value of the award is determined by the mode of study and residency status and includes payment of course fees. Additionally, a maintenance grant of over £8,000 will be paid to recipients studying full-time.

Applicants should have received, or be expected to receive in 2009, a first class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, and must meet the AHRC’s student eligibility criteria.
