I am dedicated to the idea of museum studies and will continue to
support projects that promote the idea of of interdisciplinary studies.
The various "studies" programs at NYU are pointing in the right
direction. American Studies with Andrew Ross as director in particular
as well as Liberal Studies. The Museum Studies program is a perfect
"bridge" for these other areas. Unfortunately, at NYU, the faculties
don't communicate well. The new director of Liberal Studies hates the
whole idea of museums (she's from eastern europe -- hint, hint,
hint....)

There is a very great need for technical expertise and a museum studies
program should provide that. We're working on a number of projects at
artnetweb, including realaudio broadcasts, that I hope will take up some
of the slack (with no institutional funding, by the way).
