Exhibits Specialist 

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum seeks a proven museum professional to manage the production, installation, and maintenance of the Museum's exhibits. As a member of exhibit development teams, the specialist will participate in exhibit design and planning. Responsibilities also include cost estimation for ongoing maintenance and exhibit fabrication and the annual department budget; and graphic design, fabrication, and assistance with installation of all Museum signage. 

Requirements

Advanced degree or equivalent experience, with emphasis on museum studies, arts, education, or related fields of study. Proven experience in exhibit and graphic design, fabrication, and installation. Proven knowledge of and experience with current exhibition techniques, processes, and materials including computer-generated graphic design with Adobe Suite; basic electronics and exhibit lighting; and construction/cabinet work as applied to museums. Thorough knowledge of object handling and museum best practices. Experience in budgeting and project management. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Salary range: $26,000-$32,500
