The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies is pleased to announce "Health and Safety: Hazard Communication" a workshop presented by Monona Rossol, on July 18th from 9am to 2pm. 

Ms. Rossol is the founder and president of Arts, Crafts, and Theater Safety, Inc. (ACTS)

This half day workshop will cover health and safety in the museum environment and in private practice.  Topics will include:  Applicable Laws and Standards and the Regulators of those Laws (OSHA, EPA, CPSC, and FDA); Worker and Employee Obligations; Basic Concepts of Occupational Health and Toxicity; Precautions; and Hazards and Precautions for Types of Materials. A certificate will be issued upon completion of the workshop that certifies the participant has received all the information one would need to do a Hazard Communications Training.

Offered at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies, in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, this workshop is partially funded with the financial support of the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Illinois Association of Museums and the Illinois Heritage Association.
                   
Registration fee of $50.00 includes lunch and a morning coffee.  Overnight accommodations for Tuesday, July 17 are available at the Campbell Center for $40.00 per night, the price also includes breakfast the following morning. Only 30 dormitory rooms are available so room reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.  A ten percent discount is being given to members of AIC, IAM, and IHA for both the registration fee and overnight accommodations.
