I am visiting the San Francisco/Oakland area next Thursday and Friday (Oct 13
& 14) and am interested in visiting noteworthy museums/sites/exhibits in
the area.  It is my first visit so I am looking for guidance and suggestions.
 
I work for the Baltimore City LIfe Museums, a collection of seven historic
sites and museums with a new 30,000 sf building scheduled to open in 18
months.
My interests (and responsibilities with work) cover exhibit curation,
living history and museum theatre, computer use in galleries and collections,
 
school and public programming.
If any of you can recommend people or places to visit, I would greatly
appreciate your help.
