Hi Loretta and fellow list members,

Many of us here on the list are swamped with work. List members I am
sure take a breather now and then to see what they can learn that's new
,feel connected , perhaps share info with one another on their breaks or
after work when the answer contains detailed information that requires
accurate and useful information to be beneficial .
I am surprised when a museum director or head curator answers my
requests and delighted to think they thought enough to answer. The
caliber of information is much more professional than it was. I truely
hope it will continue. Humor flows and so does some casual banter .
I've really appreciated the "light" humour-2/3rds of a pun eh what?
So far I haven't seen any serious and uncomfortable "flaming" and hope
it doesn't happen . I have learned to be patient and the answers flow.
Sometimes no one has the answers and I accept that.
Sometime it helps if you know when you need a timely reply then perhaps
posting your message with lots of lead time would work . Thus far there
is no key to reading each other's minds but I'll bet someone is working
on it.
I have been amazed by the speed of replies on the list the generousity
of information and just hearing
from the other side of the museum world from our Australian and New
Zealand members who offer such refreshing help.
And my hat off especially to you Harry Needham who waxes museological .
Sincerely

Len Hambleton - Chief Conservator
