The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum in Sanibel, FL is seeking a full time Marketing/Events Manager.  Position description is below:

Marketing/Events Manager
Position Description

The Marketing/Events Manager is a new position at The Bailey-Mathews Shell Museum, reporting to the Executive Director.  This position is responsible for all aspects of special event planning, preparation and execution in addition to managing the Museum’s marketing and public relations communications.  It is a full-time benefitted position reporting to the Executive Director.  Salary range is $30,000 – 40,000 annually depending upon experience

Key Job Responsibilities:

EVENTS
1.	 With Executive Director and Curator and staff, envision, plan and manage all aspects of public events and programs within the Museum.  It is expected that there will be at least two events each month.
2.	Reporting to the Executive Director, provide detailed staff support to the Board of Directors for the Museum’s three annual fund raising events
3.	Secure sponsors and auction items, conceptualize and produce bid sheets, save the date, invitations, programs, track attendees, prepare final reports

MARKETING/PR
1.	 Write and issue weekly media releases
2.	Design, write and publish quarterly newsletter in print and electronically
3.	Design, write and produce invitations, flyers, notices, etc.
4.	Develop and maintain on-line communications including website, Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Pintrest and others.  (Museum Staff will provide support and content for these postings)
5.	Prepare an annual advertising budget and plan for approval by the Executive Director and Board.  
6.	Create ads and ensure that they run correctly and on-time in the selected publications
7.	Ensure that accounting has appropriate contracts, tear sheets and invoices for payment of all media related expenses
8.	Work with other tourism marketing agencies to represent the museum and ensure the most effective marketing for the organization.
9.	Represent the Museum at various shows, festivals and events, chamber, CVB and Tourism functions
10.	Build and maintain strong relationships with area concierges and other marketing partners
11.	Coordinate public speaking venues for the Director, Curator and Board Members as appropriate

Requirements
1.	 Excellent communication skills, writing and design ability.
2.	Exceptional attention to all details of a project
3.	Experience and expertise successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
4.	Demonstrated ability to manage a project so that it concludes on time and on budget
5.	Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with the museum staff and board
6.	Able to work nights and weekends as required
7.	Creativity, imagination and willingness to try new ideas

Experience/Education Desired
1.	 Marketing, public relations and writing experience
2.	Substantial event planning experience
3.	Expertise using Constant Contact, as well as experience in marketing through all social media
4.	Website development/management experience desired
5.	Computer expertise including: desktop publishing, graphics, excel spreadsheets, word processing, databases.
