Gallery Director
The Gallery Director reports to the Special Collections Manager. The
essential job functions: Supervise the maintenance and care of the
permanent art collection, records, and insurance and collection inventory.
Supervise and train Gallery staff and docent volunteers. Supervise
unpacking, packing, handling, transporting, installation and return of art
materials for exhibits and shows. Supervise and coordinate exhibit changes
throughout the Library. Supervise, coordinate, and host programs and
events involving the Gallery. Supervise general research and prepare
educational narratives intended to provide information for all shows and
exhibits. Supervise photographing new acquisitions to the collections and
catalog them appropriately.

This position requires: An MFA degree from an accredited college or
university in Art History/Art; three years experience in a gallery/museum
environment with knowledge of American art, working with decorative arts,
ethnographic collections and fine arts; and three years of
supervisory/management experience.
The salary range is $39,777 - $47,731. Excellent benefits, including BC/BS
health/dental, retirement and cafeteria plan, with 22 days vacation and 12
days sick leave.
