This is an excellent idea, but rather than just provide a list of names
and/or email addresses, I suggest that the information be tabulated
under a series of headings relating to the anticipated requirements
following a disaster. People with the expertise could then add their
name and email address under those areas in which they feel best
qualified. Some suggestions might be:

    * *Conservation*
                + wet books and documents - emergency treatment
                + fabrics - mould treatment after flood
                + temporary storage of artefacts

    * *Security*
                + staff
                + volunteers
                + buildings
                + artefacts

    * *Funds (emergencies)
      *
                + sources
                + public
                + private

    * *Rebuilding and repairs
      *
                + advice on materials for temporary repairs to windows,
                  doors etc.*
                  *

And so on.

It would need a coordinator located in the US who would collate the
information and distribute it on bona fide request, rather than publish
as a web site - to save time. Perhaps some of the museums affected may
be without computer access because of flooding, so an emergency
communications arrangement would be necessary.

For consideration.
