Dear Elisabeth,
I understand what you mean. Please read my other answer in this discussion. For the case of moving lots of objects internally, you need
1)some time for preparation of the new shelves and boxes etc.
2) the scanning time at the new location.

By using transponders and/or a new documentation program (see the other mail) this can be done even quicker, because nobody has to hold the scanner twice on the barcode labels of each and every object. Let your computer produce a list of items by location and say (at the new location): these selected 20 objects are now in shelve 123, these 40 objects in shelve 456, these 3 items in cupboard 789. As "shelve 123" is an index term, "human typing errors" can be avoided. Additional care has to be spent, of course, in all the packing aspects of the moving.

Best regards

Christian
