Rachel,

A good source for some case studies is Lind, R., Jarvis, R., Phelan, M. (2002) 'Art and Museum Law: Cases and Materials'. Durham, North Carolina: Carolina Academic Press. There are a couple of chapters, one concerning stolen art, the other concerning Art and artifacts as national or cultural property. The case law and rulings are discussed in detail and cover legal precedence.
Good luck,

Rachel Barnett
